Running GedLynk To run the program double-click the GedLynk.jar file or run the following command from a command prompt: java -jar GedLynk.jar
First Run When the program starts up for the first time, you will be prompted to import a GEDCOM file. A GEDCOM file may be exported from almost all genealogy programs. It may take several minutes to import your GEDCOM file depending on the size of the file.
Once the GEDCOM file has been imported, you will be prompted to create a data source connection to FamilySearch or a PhpGedView website.

After entering your connection information you will be able to select people from your GEDCOM file and view them side-by-side with people from the remote data source your entered.
Synchronize If you have established that people are the same you can use the synchronize button beneath the remote person to link them together.

On the synchronize page you will be asked to drag and drop assertions between the two people. You may drag assertions to/from your local person to add them to the remote person, or you may drag items to the trash to remove them.

Once you have the records the way you would like them to be, click the next button to link them together and save your changes.
Next you will see a list of the person's close relatives. You will have the option of adding any of the close relatives of the person who do not already exist in the remote data source. If they already exist, you can sync them with the first match listed. Select the appropriate add or sync checkboxes for the people you would like to continue with and they will be added to the queue.
You will continue adding or synchronizing people until their are no more people left in the queue or until you hit cancel.
